Pepperoni Pizza Tacos
If you love both pizza and tacos, this fun recipe combines the best of both worlds. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a casual get-together, these Pepperoni Pizza Tacos are packed with flavor and easy to customize.
Ingredients:
8 to 10 taco shells (either hard or soft, depending on your preference)
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce or pizza sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage until fully browned and crumbled. If there is excess grease, drain it off. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 3 to 4 minutes, until the onion becomes soft and translucent. - Add the Sauce and Seasoning:
Pour the tomato sauce or pizza sauce into the skillet with the meat mixture. Stir to combine. Sprinkle in the dried oregano and dried basil, stirring well to evenly distribute the herbs. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. - Assemble the Tacos:
Warm the taco shells according to the package directions. Spoon the meat and sauce mixture into each shell, filling them generously. - Optional Toppings:
You can top your Pepperoni Pizza Tacos with shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, chopped olives, or any of your favorite pizza toppings. Return them to the oven briefly if you want the cheese to melt, or enjoy them as is! - Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the tacos immediately while they’re hot and flavorful. They make a great casual dinner or party food.
