🧾 Ingredients
For the base:
225g malted milk biscuits, crushed (approx. 2¼ cups)
200g milk chocolate, chopped (approx. 1 cup + 2 tbsp)
125g Maltesers (approx. 1⅔ cups)
160g butter (approx. ½ cup + 3 tbsp)
3 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp cocoa powder
For the topping:
300g chocolate (or milk chocolate) (approx. 1¾ cups)
100g Maltesers, whole or roughly chopped (approx. 1⅓ cups)
🧑🍳 Instructions
- Make the Base:
Combine crushed biscuits and cocoa powder in a large bowl. In a saucepan, gently melt the butter, milk chocolate, and golden syrup over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour over the biscuit mixture and mix well. Fold in the Maltesers. - Press and Chill:
Line a 9×9-inch tray with parchment paper. Press the mixture evenly into the tray. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up. - Add the Topping:
Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (or in the microwave in short bursts). Pour over the chilled base and spread evenly. - Decorate:
Scatter Maltesers on top and gently press them into the melted chocolate. - Chill and Slice:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until set. Slice into squares or bars and enjoy!
