JOKE OF THE DAY: An elderly couple was driving across the country when the wife, who was behind the wheel, got pulled over by a highway patrol officer.

The ” Arkansas Mother-In-Law” Roast: A Recipe for a Good Laugh

Sometimes, the best way to handle a long road trip is with a sense of humor and a belly full of comfort food. This classic “Joke of the Day” reminds us that while communication can get a little lost in translation—especially after fifty years of marriage—a quick wit is the best travel companion.

The Joke of the Day

An elderly couple was driving across the country when the wife, who was behind the wheel, got pulled over by a highway patrol officer.

The officer walks up to the window and says, “Ma’am, did you know you were speeding?”

The wife, a bit hard of hearing, turns to her husband and asks, “What did he say?” The husband yells back, “HE SAYS YOU WERE SPEEDING!”

The officer then asks, “May I see your license, please?”

Again, the wife turns to her husband: “What did he say?” The husband bellows, “HE WANTS TO SEE YOUR LICENSE!” The officer looks at the license and says, “I see you’re from Arkansas. I spent some time there once. It was the worst experience of my life. The food was terrible, the weather was miserable, and I met the meanest woman I’ve ever encountered.”

The wife turns to her husband one last time: “What did he say?” The husband looks at the officer, then back at his wife, and screams: “HE SAYS HE THINKS HE KNOWS YOUR MOTHER!”
