How to make aloe vera oil for faster hair growth and to stop hair loss… To continue receiving my recipes, just say something… Thank you!
Aloe vera oil is a potent natural treatment for hair health, combining the proteolytic enzymes of the aloe plant with a nourishing carrier oil to repair dead skin cells on the scalp and stimulate dormant hair follicles.
While the image you shared suggests a “boiling” method with green-tinted oil, the most effective way to preserve the active nutrients (like Vitamins A, C, and E) is a low-heat infusion.
The Recipe: Infused Aloe Vera Hair Oil
This method ensures the aloe’s enzymes remain intact while the oil becomes a delivery system for deep hydration.
Ingredients
- 1 Fresh Aloe Vera Leaf: Look for a thick, mature leaf.
- 1 Cup Carrier Oil: Coconut oil is best for deep penetration, but you can use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for thicker hair or Jojoba oil for oily scalps.
- Optional: 5 drops of Rosemary essential oil (clinically shown to support hair regrowth).
The Method
1
Drain the Aloin
15 minutes
Cut the base of the aloe leaf and stand it upright in a jar for 15 minutes. A yellow sap (aloin) will drain out; discard this, as it can cause scalp irritation for some people.
2
Extract the Gel
Clean and cube
Wash the leaf, trim the prickly edges, and slice it open. Scoop out the clear, translucent gel. You can cube the gel or pulse it in a blender for 5 seconds for a smoother infusion.
3
Low-Heat Infusion
30–45 minutes
Combine the gel and your carrier oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Simmer on the lowest possible heat. The goal is to let the water evaporate from the gel without frying it. When the gel pieces turn brown and translucent, turn off the heat.
4
Strain and Store
Cool completely
Once cooled, strain the oil through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve into a glass jar. Add your essential oils now if using. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 months.
How to Apply for Best Results
For hair growth and stopping hair loss, the application technique is just as important as the oil itself.
- The Scalp Massage: Apply the oil directly to the scalp using your fingertips. Massage in circular motions for 5 minutes. This increases blood flow to the follicles.
- The Inversion Method: Flip your head upside down while massaging to further boost circulation.
- Rest Time: Leave the oil in for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for a deep treatment (wear a shower cap to protect your linens).
- Wash: Use a sulfate-free shampoo to rinse. You may need to shampoo twice to remove all the oil.
Pro Tip: Use this treatment twice a week. Over-oiling can lead to clogged pores, so consistency is better than high volume.
