Here's a comforting Pork Chop Casserole recipe that's easy to make and packed with flavor. It combines tender pork chops, creamy sauce, and tasty rice for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
4-6 bone-in or boneless pork chops
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice (or instant rice if you prefer)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of celery soup
1 1/2 cups milk or chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Season the Pork Chops: Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika on both sides.
3. Sear the Pork Chops: In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
4. Prepare the Casserole:
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, and milk or chicken broth. Stir until smooth.
Add the uncooked rice, chopped onions, and green bell pepper (if using) to the soup mixture.
5. Assemble: Pour the rice mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the seared pork chops on top of the rice.
6. Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the rice is tender and the pork chops are fully cooked. You can remove the foil during the last 10-15 minutes to allow the pork chops to brown a little more on top.
7. Serve: Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then serve warm.
Tips
For extra flavor, try adding sliced mushrooms or substituting one of the cream soups for cream of chicken.
Garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of cheese for an added touch.
Enjoy your hearty and delicious pork chop casserole!
